RADView™ CT

The RADView™ CT dosimeter badge is a 1.2” x 2.4” plastic radiation dosimeter that provides visual measurement of absorbed radiation dose to patients who are undergoing CT scans.  The RADView™ is radiologically equivalent to soft tissue, which means that it is effectively transparent to X-rays at the kVp settings used for CT scans, but nevertheless measures the surface dose from X-ray treatments. The RADView™ dosimetry process employs a self developing radiation sensitive film that is calibrated for radiation dose.

The RADView CT provides immediate indication of entrance dose to track patient doses and document quality of operations.

If the circle is darker than the surrounding box, the dose is higher than that threshold. If the circle is lighter than the box, the dose is less than the indicated threshold.

Features:

  • Precalibrated
  • Disposable
  • Tissue equivalent
  • X-ray transparent
  • Inexpensive
  • Custom Printing

The badge may be read immediately to record results in a patent’s file.  A photocopy may also be placed in the  record.

In the RADView™ PD dosimeter, calibrated dose threshold indicators surround the radiation sensitive film in the center of each reference square.  The color of each reference square is calibrated to the dose printed on that segment.  The reference indications are permanently printed on the badge and do not change, providing a constant reference value for each dose level.  If the sensitive film in the center is darker than the background of a square, the dose is greater than the number on that segment (“dose is darker”).

RADView CT dosimeters have space to write the wearer’s name and date.  The badge can then be photocopied for the record.  The X-ray image right shows a RADView badge  centered on the skull during a catherization procedure.  Can you identify the outline of the badge?
